How Lucky Girl Academy Used Professional Brand Photos to Launch with Impact

Case Study: How Lucky Girl Academy Used Professional Brand Photos to Launch with Impact

When Claire Spencer founded Lucky Girl Academy, she knew that creating a strong visual identity was essential. Her business – a coaching and mentoring academy designed to help women step into their confidence and create the success they deserve, needed images that embodied empowerment, professionalism, and approachability. That’s where professional brand photos came in.

I sat down with Claire to hear about her experience working with me and how her brand photos have played a key role in launching Lucky Girl Academy.

What was your biggest struggle before having professional brand photos?

“Before investing in professional brand photos, I relied on selfies for my business. I was the ultimate selfie queen, but deep down, it never felt right. It didn’t give the impression of a serious business owner – it felt like I was playing at business rather than actually running one. I wanted my brand to reflect the confidence and credibility I had in my work, but my visuals weren’t doing me any favours. I knew I needed to step up if I wanted to attract the right kind of clients.”

Why did you decide to invest in branding photography?

“I started looking at the top people in my industry – the ones who seemed to be thriving – and there was a clear pattern. They all had professional brand photos. They looked polished, consistent, and intentional with their visuals. Their brands had a cohesive theme that immediately signalled credibility. I realised that if I wanted people to invest in me, I had to show that I was investing in myself. I wanted my audience to see my brand and immediately recognise that I was serious about what I do.”

How did having professional photos change how you presented your business?

“From the moment I shared my new brand photos, everything changed. People started noticing me – not just the people who already knew me, but those outside my immediate network. My brand started standing out in a way it never had before. The images gave off an air of professionalism and confidence that instantly made people take me more seriously. I wasn’t just another coach in a crowded market – I was presenting myself as an expert in my field, and that made all the difference.”

What impact did it have on launching your website and attracting clients?

“Honestly, I couldn’t be prouder of my website now. Before, it felt a little thrown together, but now every single area has a professional brand photo that fits seamlessly into the design. It’s not just about having nice pictures – it’s about creating a cohesive brand identity. My photos have a consistent theme, yet they also showcase different aspects of my business. I’m in different outfits, using different backdrops, and I’ve strategically assigned each image to a specific service I offer. It makes everything feel intentional and high-end. When potential clients land on my website, they don’t just see a business – they see a professional they can trust. In fact, I’ve had people tell me that before they even contacted me, they already knew they wanted to work with me just from how my brand was presented. That’s the power of professional brand photos.”

What surprised you most about the process?

“I knew the photos would look good, but I was genuinely surprised at just how professional and polished I could look. Seeing the final images was such an eye-opener – I finally saw myself as the expert I wanted others to see. And the process itself? So much fun! I was expecting to feel awkward, but the session was relaxed, easy, and actually enjoyable. The hardest part? Choosing which photos to use because they all looked incredible!”

What’s your favourite image from the shoot, and why?

“There’s one shot that I absolutely love – it’s me on the sofa, head back, laughing while on my phone. It’s my favourite because it captures everything I want my brand to represent. It’s fun, it’s confident, and it shows that I know my schizz! The kind of image that makes people think, ‘I want to work with her.’ And honestly, that’s exactly the kind of impression I wanted to make.”

Claire’s brand photography was all about creating images that felt aligned with the energy of Lucky Girl Academy – polished, professional, but full of personality.
