About Maryanne

I’m a 47 years old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been a photographer for 18 years and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!

Things I’m currently into

Reading in any shape or form (but especially science fiction)

Traveling and visiting new places (especially if it’s in Italy)

Taste testing every single wine I can get hold of from Drinkwell uk (low carb wine 😂)

More recently I’ve been following a keto diet and love finding new recipes

Spending time outside with my Husband & Labradoodle

Red wine, chocolate and mayonnaise (though not all at the same time)

This is my journey

2006

The year I did this

I’ve always been super creative, whether it was writing & publishing cookbooks or painting; I just love to make things. And I always knew that I should be doing something creative (not the insurance job I started in).

So when my husband Andrew bought me my first DSLR camera back in 2006 – little did he know what he had started.

At first it was just families and kids but then…

2011

The year I did this

After years of doing family photos, I married Andrew in 2011.

And we had a terrible experience with our wedding photos. I didn’t want anyone to have the same experience we had!

I took a huge leap and started to offer Wedding Photography. It was intense and exhausting and wonderful.

2014

The year I did this

By this point I was still working as a Corporate Insurance Broker but after a year where I did 30 weddings and had started to offer branding shoots (and still worked full time). Something had to give.

So I quit my job, and a month later I was newly self employed.

2017

The year I did this

I completely stopped offering weddings and family photography and concentrated exclusively on Brand Photography.

Since then I’ve worked with hundreds of businesses every year to help them get just a little bit closer to achieving their business goals through beautiful branding photography, video’s and websites.

2024

The year I did this

I’m celebrating 10 years of The Branding Photographer and I’ve got lots of exciting things planned. Including my own Natural light Branding Photography Studio in my home town of Ossett.
