What to Bring to a Branding Photoshoot
Your branding photoshoot isn’t just about capturing great images—it’s about telling your brand story in a way that feels authentic and aligned with your business. To make the most of your session, preparation is key. Here’s exactly what to bring to ensure your shoot runs smoothly and delivers images you love using.
1. Multiple Outfits (With Purpose)
Bringing at least 2-3 outfit options gives you variety in your final images. I usually suggest 2 outfits per hour of photography.
Choose outfits that:
- Reflect your brand colours and style
- Make you feel confident and comfortable
- Suit the different aspects of your business (e.g., casual, professional, lifestyle)
Bonus Tip: Layering pieces like blazers, cardigans, or scarves can help create different looks without a full outfit change.

2. Brand-Aligned Props
Props help add context and make your images feel natural. Think about the tools of your trade and how you interact with your brand daily. Examples include:
- A notebook or planner
- Your laptop or phone (if relevant to your work)
- Any products you sell
- A branded coffee cup or your favourite mug
- Books that inspire you or relate to your industry
3. Personal Touches
These small elements can make your shoot feel even more you and help reinforce your brand identity. Consider bringing:
- Statement jewellery or accessories that match your personal style
- Fresh flowers or decorative items that fit your brand aesthetic
- A handwritten note, journal, or inspirational quote
- A piece of artwork that we can hang on the wall.
4. Touch-Up Kit
Even with professional hair and makeup, a quick refresh can make a difference. Pack a small kit with:
- Lipstick or lip balm
- Powder to reduce shine
- A hairbrush and extra clips/bobbles
- Hand cream or nail polish for last-minute touch-ups
Bonus Tip: If you wear glasses, bring a lens cloth to keep them smudge-free!
5. Confidence & Energy!
It might not fit in a bag, but the best thing to bring is a positive mindset. Your energy translates into your photos, so come prepared to have fun, relax, and trust the process!
