How I use PINTEREST as a Brand Photographer in Yorkshire.
Pinterest absolutely LOVES new pins! If you want to know one of my biggest Pinterest secrets for getting traffic to my blog, it’s that I upload a small handful of brand new pins most days of the week.
Without fail, this grows my traffic and email list.
That’s why I say it’s so important to blog at least once per week. Any less than that, and you simply aren’t going to have enough posts to create pins for.
Here’s the thing with Pinterest.
It’s just isn’t enough to re-pin other people’s pins and hope your account will grow.
Pinterest wants to get new content from YOU!
How I Use Pinterest as a Brand Photographer in Yorkshire
So, just in case you’re not aware, Pinterest acts as a visual search engine. Making it the perfect platform for a brand photographer in Yorkshire to display work.
I create boards that categorise my photography projects, such as “Product Photography” and “Creative Brand Imagery”, “Brand Photography for Business Coaches”.
I also use Pinterest to plan my photoshoots, sharing a link with new clients for them to save inspiration.
Here’s my own process
First I create a blog post that I think my ideal client might want to read.
I’ll sometimes use ChatGPT to come up with ideas for blog posts, or I’ll just think of the questions I get asked on a regular basis. (read the book They Ask You answer if you want to look into blogging more).
Once I’ve written the new post I use Canva to create a cover image. I use the same template every time so it’s really quick to recreate each time I blog.
I have linked WordPress (that’s the system I use for this blog) to Pinterest so that as soon as it’s published it will be shared on LinkedIn.
But just leaving it at one post on Pinterest per blog post is missing a trick.
Next I use Canva
Next I create 9 more images/graphics on Canva. I use a scheduler to post all 10 images (with links and descriptions) over the next week. I might just change the image or I might create a written carousel post (that I can use again on Instagram).
The great side effect with this is that you then have more content for social media in general. So you could share them on your stories or on LinkedIn… anywhere really.
Obviously I also use Pinterest to understand market trends and the preferences of female business owners. By looking at popular pins and boards, I can identify what visual styles are trending and what my target audience gravitates towards.
In conclusion, Pinterest is a powerful platform for brand photographers looking to showcase their work and connect with potential clients.
For me, it has been instrumental in reaching out to female business owners in Yorkshire, allowing me to display my portfolio creatively and interact with a wider audience. By strategically using Pinterest, I’ve been able to enhance my online presence and grow my photography business.
