Why Is No-One Doing This With Their Brand Photography?

Let’s chat about something that’s often overlooked but oh-so-important when it comes to your personal brand and social media – Brand Video.

We all know good visuals can make or break your brand, but have you ever stopped to wonder why some businesses absolutely nail it while others just don’t?

They’re probably using more video than you. And I don’t just mean the talking to camera type. I mean video in general. Especially short form videos.

Elevating Your Brand with Short-Form Personal Branding Videos

Incorporating short-form personal branding videos (typically about 10 seconds in length) into your photoshoot is a game-changing strategy, especially for female entrepreneurs.

I’m really beginning to understand the power of these compact, engaging videos to amplify my own brand.

Examples of B-roll & Brand Videos

The Power of Short-Form Branding Videos

1.Short-form videos, approximately 10 seconds in length, are perfect for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook stories. These platforms are where your audience spends a significant portion of their time, and short videos are known to have higher engagement rates due to their concise and captivating nature.

2. Attention spans are shrinking, a 10-second video can communicate your brand’s message quickly and effectively, making it ideal for grabbing and retaining the viewer’s attention.

3. These videos can be used across various digital platforms – from your website’s landing page to email newsletters, providing a consistent brand experience wherever your audience engages with you.

4. You can use them on their own or you can put several together to create a little story.

5. Create a gif (where it automatically plays) so you can use them on your stories or in newsletters.

How to Make the Most of Your Branding Video Shoot?

I have a folder in Instagram and TikTok where I save videos I might want to recreate. It might just be a video showing someone sat at their desk typing, or it could be a more complicated scenes (like those gorgeous autumnal videos where someone sat with a hot drink and the steam is rising) that take a bit more setting up.

The main thing is to have a good idea of the types of videos that might work for you.

If you sell a physical product, could you demonstrate how to use it? And no, not in a QVC selling type video. Maybe if you sell candles its as simple as a video showing you lighting it?

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
