How to take better Personal Branding Photographs

Are you a photographer looking to elevate your personal branding photographs and bring a new level to your personal branding shoots?

Or maybe you’re a Wedding or Family photographer who’d simply like their weekends back?

How to take better personal branding Photographs

Well, as luck would have it, I’ve got something exciting lined up for you!

I’m hosting a workshop where I’m sharing insights I’ve gathered over years of shooting personal branding photographs.

Here’s a sneak peek into what you’ll learn:

Planning the Perfect Shoot

Every successful shoot starts with meticulous planning. I’ll walk you through my process of conceptualising a shoot. From understanding the client’s brand identity to selecting themes that resonate with their audience.

I’ll share how I plan a perfect shoot and take any questions you might have.

Mastering the Art of Light

Light can make or break a photograph.

In this workshop, we’ll delve into finding the best light for your shoots, whether you’re working indoors or outside.

I’ll share my tips on harnessing natural light to its full potential and using artificial lighting to create the desired mood and atmosphere (without the need for expensive light set-ups or technical know-how).

With the help of a business owner/model we’ll find the best light at a beautiful house (one that I regularly use for shoots).

Choosing the Perfect Location

Location selection is critical in personal branding photography.

We’ll discuss how to scout for locations generally but more importantly we’ll look at how to make on-the-spot decisions about where to shoot within a given setting.

So next time you’re faced with a house that is darker (or smaller) than you expected, you’ll know exactly what to do.

Posing Techniques for the Self-Conscious Client

Not all clients are naturals in front of the camera, and it’s our job to make them comfortable.

I’ll share effective strategies for posing clients who may feel self-conscious, helping them to relax and look their best.

You’ll gain insights into how I guide clients through poses that feel natural yet flattering, ensuring their personality shines through and they feel confident.

Creative Use of Props

Props can add a unique dimension to personal branding photographs, but unless you communicate well with your client they can be a little underwhelming.

I’ll discuss my thoughts on choosing and using props effectively, ensuring they enhance rather than distract from the subject.

We’ll explore how to select props that align with the client’s brand and how to integrate them creatively into your shots.

My Go-To Shot-List

A well-thought-out shot-list is a powerful tool in personal branding photography. I’ll share the basic shot-list I use and explain how it helps streamline the shoot while ensuring all key images are captured.

You’ll learn how to create your own adaptable shot-list that can be tailored to each client’s needs.

3 Different shoots

We’ll do 3 shoots in different spots within the house and I’ll share the advice I give about outfits and props for every change.

There will be plenty of time for you to take photos too. Whether this is just to practice or so that you walk away with the start of a portfolio.

The workshop will end with a time for questions, whether it’s about the technical aspects of photography or business. You can ask me anything.

And when you’re ready, here are three ways that I can help you:

1) Visit my blog for tips on VISIBILITY.

Every week I discuss strategies to improve your visibility, get over your fear of visibility and my latest shoots.  Read here

2) Plan a bespoke photoshoot.

We can plan a shoot based on what you actually need (read more) or you could join me at a Branding Day.

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
