How to be more visible

How to Be More Visible:

Do you find yourself posting on Instagram or LinkedIn and its like you’re shouting into a void?

Yeah I get that too. The posts where I spend ages fretting over whether I’m using the right words, or sounding like an idiot… I eventually post and then nothing.

But then a quick post where I share a photo of myself, and a few cheeky comments and everyone is all over it???

Well, over time, I’ve picked up a few cheeky tricks to move from the background to the spotlight.

1. Stay Genuine

First things first, if you’re thinking about how to be more visible, always be YOU.

I know it sounds clichéd, but authenticity is what draws people to you. Plus people want to know more about you so they can relate and think “yeah…I do that too” or “yep! That’s happened to me”.

2. Dive into Conversations

Here’s the thing, the more you engage with people, the more you’re remembered.

It’s not about talking just for the sake of it, but genuinely engaging, asking about their day, or sharing a fun fact. Even just making an effort to comment on posts that you’d usually just ‘like’ and then scroll on to the next one.

3. Share Your Tales:

Everyone loves a good story, especially if it’s real and heartfelt. Don’t be shy; your experiences can be both enlightening and entertaining for others.

Like that time I shared my

4. Keep Learning:

It’s a big world out there with endless stuff to know!

Staying updated not only makes you interesting but also boosts that self-confidence, which means that when it comes to being more visible you have stuff to talk about.

5. Make Meaningful Connections:

It’s quality over quantity, always!

Building solid relationships can open so many doors. And hey, you might make some lifelong business friends in the process.

Do you use LinkedIn ? Come find me and we can start a conversation.

6. Find Your Voice:

This one’s close to my heart. I’ve realized that if you’ve got something to say, say it. Whether it’s in a group chat, meeting, or at a café with friends – let your voice be heard.

But it takes some practice.

I’ve found that blogging has helped me find my voice. It’s not as scary as doing video’s and it might just be how your next client finds you.

7. Dress to Impress (Yourself):

I’m not saying go full red-carpet every day. But dressing in a way that makes YOU feel good? Absolute game-changer for your confidence and visibility. And if you feel confident and good, it’s just one less barrier to getting in front of your ideal client.

So, there you have it, straight from my journey to yours. How to be more visible is all about being genuine, open, and confident in who you are. Trust me, once you embrace these, you won’t just be seen – you’ll shine.

And when you’re ready, here are three ways that I can help you:

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
