Are You Making These Visibility Mistakes in Your Business

Are you making these visibility mistakes in your business?

Worry not; we’ve all been there, I once had a client who really wanted to book me but looked on my Visibility School Instagram page and I hadn’t posted in 6 months… so they thought I wasn’t doing it anymore. It took a business friend to tell me to fix it!!

So let’s transform those visibility mistakes into victories and make your business the rock star it deserves to be.

The Vanishing Act on Social Media

Ever wonder why your Instagram followers think you’ve gone into a witness protection program?

If your last post was back when planking was cool, you’re in trouble!

Solution: Show up regularly on social media. Post behind-the-scenes shots, share insights, and let your audience know you’re alive and thriving.

DIY Photography Catastrophes

Let’s face it; not everyone can pull off a selfie like a Kardashian. If your profile picture looks like a blurry drunken night out, it might be time for an upgrade.

Solution: Book a professional photoshoot to capture your best angles, personality, and your brand’s essence. Leave those grainy selfies in the past!

Branding Inconsistencies

Your branding looks like it was designed by a committee with no sense of direction. Your logo, website, and social media scream “identity crisis.”

Solution: Streamline your branding and make it as cohesive as McDonald’s Milkshake and fries (its a sweet and salty thing). Getting help with your branding can often make posting online so much easier. And if you need help check out Mint Sauce Media or Brandstorm Creatives.

The Invisible ‘About’ Page

Your ‘About’ page is emptier than your coffee cup at 3 PM. People want to know the genius behind the brand!

Solution: Beef up your ‘About’ page with your story, quirks, and plenty of pictures of your lovely face. People want to see the real person behind a business.

Inconsistent Posting Habits

Your posting schedule is as unpredictable as me when I decide I’m going to get fit. Sometimes you post twice a day, other times it’s crickets for weeks.

Solution: Establish a consistent posting schedule. Plan your content in advance and use those Branding photos to keep your feed looking fresh and vibrant. Consider using a planning app like Later or Planoly.

Neglecting PR Opportunities

PR opportunities are like rare good hair days; they pop up when you least expect them. If you’re not prepared, you’ll miss the chance to shine.

Solution: Have a stash of branding images ready for those unexpected PR moments. You’ll look like a PR pro in no time. And if you need help with your PR check out Cheerleader PR.

Hiding Your Unique Quirks

You’ve got quirks, and they’re what make you memorable! Yet, you’re playing it safe and blending in with the crowd.

Solution: Embrace your quirks and let them shine. Whether it’s your quirky socks or your love for a particular coffee shop, let your audience connect with the real you.

The Fear of Being Seen

Many of us are more comfortable being behind the scenes than in the spotlight.

But in business, being seen is crucial.

Solution: Conquer your fear by having more photos (counter-intuitive I know!!). Having a professional do your photos will take away that fear – I’ll help you feel at ease, and your business will benefit from the visibility boost.

B-roll

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
