Branding photography is an essential part of any business’s visual identity. It helps to establish a recognisable and consistent image that resonates with your target audience. Today I’m looking at how to maximize the impact of your branding photography for your business.
Use your Images
I thought I’d start off with the most obvious way to maximise the impact of your Brand photos…
It’s ok to have great images, but if you never actually get round to sharing them, then what’s the point?
Lots of people get their photos, choose their favourite and then update their social media profile photos (which is great for consistency across all platforms) but then they forget about all the other places they should be using them.
- Social media posts
- Email signature
- Website ‘ABOUT’ page
- Blog posts
- Newsletters
Just to name a few ways to use your branding photos.
Use them with graphics
Consider using them in graphics rather than just posting your brand photos directly onto social media.
Do you use Canva?
The templates in Canva are a great way to introduce your brand colours into your imagery.
Here are a few ways I’ve used mine:
Other media
Have you thought about using your images in video?
Youtube – perhaps use one of your brand photos for the intro screen, the thumbnails or maybe create a
Tiktok – I’m not a massive fan of appearing on camera, but I would’nt mind sharing photos of myself in some kind of slideshow. Especially one of those ones where the photo jumps to the next one on the beat of the music (you can follow me on tiktok to see how I use it).
You could even share one of your photos but then record yourself talking over it… like a podcast of sorts.
Consistency
If you use your images consistently, then people will come to recognise you. It’s as simple as that.
In fact it’s better because once someone recognises you online, they’ll feel like they know you when you meet in person. Or they’ll spot you in the toilets of some random café and come and hug you (just me???).
Optimise the images for search engines
Remember to resize your images for the web or you might just have such a huge image that really slows down your website. Have a read of my blog post on how to optimise images!
