The Power of Colour by Apparel Leeds.
Today I’m joined by Dawn Farr of Apparel Leeds. An Independent ladies boutique selling quality contemporary fashions in Leeds.
Dawn has recently started to offer Colour analysis since she graduated (with distinction!) from the London College of Style earlier this year and I thought she would be a huge help for anyone wondering how colour and specifically how you wear it, might improve your photos.
Over to Dawn…
The colours you wear for your shoot have meaning (and if they’re a colour that suits you too
Knowing your colours, the ones that work for you, gives you the tools to ensure you have a special sparkle in every outfit you wear.
Your colours make your eyes shine and your skin glow, they make you look lighter and brighter. They are a big confidence boost.
What more could you want for a photo shoot?
With each colour having its own significance, the real power of colour is just incredible. Find the ones that work for you and you’ll never look back.
In just 90 minutes, using the Four Seasons Colour Analysis method, I can help you establish your best season and introduce you to your colour spectrum.
After the session you’ll also receive hints and tips to help you on your colour journey.
I’ve selected a few of Maryanne’s beautiful shots to illustrate that power.
There’s a green for everyone! Sitting in the centre of the colour wheel it inspires harmony, balance and calm.
For the Greeks it signified good health. It helps alleviate depression, anxiety and nervousness. How gorgeous does Holly look in her stunning green dress?
Like green, there’s a blue for us all.
Blue instills confidence and calm authority. It inspires trust, reduces heart rate, calms the nerves and releases oxytocin, the feel good hormone. I’m insistently drawn to those wearing blue.
How couldn’t you be drawn to Michelle in this gorgeous shot?
Red is a dynamic colour which will always provoke emotion by both the wearer and the viewer.
It brings energy, passion, motivation. It make you stand out in a crowd. Red evokes confidence and can offer a real boost if you’re out of your comfort zone.
Could Clare be any more glorious in her red?
The joyful, colour of sunshine! Yellow can help overcome unhappiness as it cheers and uplifts. It influences the left side of the brain where deep thinking and perception happen. Yellow aids creativity.
It’s worn beautifully here by Maryanne.
