I love that I take photos of so many different types of businesses, so today I thought I’d share some unusual branding photo ideas for Yoga and Pilates studios.
So… Meet Sharron Stott.
Sharron runs a Pilates/ Sports Massage Therapy studio in Scissett, West Yorkshire called The Flow Studio and we met at the end of 2020 to get some photos for her website and social media.
Sharron hadn’t had professional photos done before but had such great ideas of where we was going to take her lovely studio – and she needed photos to be able to be more visible on social media and for her website.
Indoors & outdoors
We decided on a combination of photos in her studio and outdoor photos to really bring the business to life.
I wanted to show movement in the photos, rather than just the usual ‘look at the camera and smile’ photos. It also gave us opportunity to do more close up photos too.
The great thing is that we got a mixture of movement, posed and details photos – which is all good when you’re trying to fill up your social media channels with relevant photos (and it makes it easier to have something to talk about – as you can literally just describe what’s going on in the photo).
We also did photos in an unusual outdoor setting too – they’re similar in style to the studio photos but give away a bit more personality about Sharron and her business.
When we do Personal branding shoots we can include a variety of locations in the one shoot.

Loved my photo shoot with Maryanne. She was really relaxed and friendly, putting me at ease.
Love her enthusiasm and creativity as she had great ideas. She was really patient, listening to what I needed plus offering great advice too. I felt totally at ease and was so pleased with the end result.
Ended up with loads of photos I’m happy and confident to use, she had such a skill to really capture me as I am and in a really natural/realistic way.
Perfect, exactly what I wanted!
