You might be wondering if branding photos will make your business more successful.
Whilst actually having the photos done won’t make any specific difference other than lighten your purse and ensure you have to buy a load of new clothes…
What you do with the photos afterwards is going to be why they make you successful.
If you’ve only got a few seconds of someones attention – how on earth do you keep it?
Actually Use them
I see so many people investing in a photoshoot but then not actually using them that often.
Obviously there could be an issue with the photos (not mine…obviously 😂) but its more likely that they just don’t like being visible.
Here are a few really simple ways to get started…
- Update your profile photos (use the same photo everywhere)
- Use them to sign off an email
- Update your website “about” page
- Introduce yourself at least once a month on insta.
If you consistently show up on your social media channels, people will recognise you. Then you’ll get random people coming up to you in cafes saying hello (just me?) but more importantly you’ll be seen as more trustworthy, more professional and a connection will have been made.
Sell more products
If you sell a physical product online then your photos are your shop window.
Instagram and your website are selling your product but the first things that going to grab someones attention is the photo.
There are so many companies now that sell on instagram, so the best way to stand out is to have really lovely product photos (like these ones for @Fox_and_moon ).
You’ll get more opportunities.
If you already have great photos then you’re more likely to be able to take advantage of any opportunities that come your way.
Advertising – you can advertise your latest product, course or retreat at the drop of a hat.
Want to get into a magazine? If you have personal branding photos then you’re ready to go once you spot an opportunity.
Want your product to be featured in a special pull out newspaper this Christmas – well you can get the photos over to the editors in plenty of time (they notoriously start planning features months in advance).
Selling a course? If you’re a coach or you sell a service where it’s you doing the training, you can use photos of your face
Be recognisable
As I’m always saying on instagram, if people don’t see your face they’re not going to recognise you, and if they dont recognise you, they’re unlikely to think of you next time they need whatever it is you have to offer…
I’ve noticed over the last couple of years that coaches are using so many more of their own photos. Just take a look at Jasmine Star, Lisa Johnson or Denise Duffield-Thomas – they all post photos of themselves regularly (some even do it for every post!).
They all understand that it’s that connection (and consistency) that creates their personal brand and brings engagement with their followers.
Raise your prices
One of the best benefits of brand photography is that it allows you to raise your prices. (and who doesn’t want that?!)
Building a recognisable brand and presenting a professional image communicates to your audience that you take your business seriously, and when you look professional you can charge professional pricing.
And as always…
If you’re thinking about having new photos (or you’ve never had any…) just drop me a line! I’m back working again now that lockdown has eased and I’ll be working across Yorkshire (and the rest of the UK).
PS ———-> VISIBILITY SCHOOL enrolment is now open. If you’re wanting to start building your online profile then I think this could really help you!
