Why now is a good time to book a branding shoot
Like most photographers, the last few months have been a strange time for my business.
On the one hand all shoots stopped and I felt a bit lost, but on the other it gave me time to work on a project I’d been thinking about or rather…procrastinating and wondering if I could actually do it…
And from listening to other business owners I think that was the same for most people.
If they could shift their business to an online model they did it…and then realised how great it was.
Then there were the people who had been furloughed and rather than just sit around and wait for the world to open up again, they started a new business or a side business…something they’d always longed to do but just didn’t have the time or headspace to do it!
So now things are starting to open up again…and shoots are possible again (all socially distanced of course), I thought I’d share why there’s never been a better time to get some professional branding photos done!
Visibility
You’ve started a business or you’ve moved part of your business online, and it totally fits in with you life. Youve got more time with your family. The kids get your attention again and you feel so much more fulfilled while you work.
But you’ve realised that you need to be visible & how difficult it is to keep up with doing your own photos.
You started an online business during lockdown
Lockdown has been a nightmare in a lot of ways. But a great thing to come out of it is all the brilliant ways people have been turning their businesses online…and all the new product and service businesses are just brilliant.
Whether you decided to do something completely new (online shop, online teaching etc) or you just shifted your current business into a new direction. I bet by now you’ve realised what an Olympic pain in the bum doing photos can be.
Now you could go down the route of using iPhone photos, stock photos etc but if you want to stand out from the crowd on instagram (and lets face it, that’s hard enough anyway).
PR Opportunities
Who else got sick of the news over lockdown?
I’ve never really followed the news that much (social media tends to keep me up to date with the important things going on in the world) until lockdown and the first few weeks where it seemed like the world had stopped. And the news was obviously just so gloomy.
But now we’re allowed out again, Newspapers and magazines are starting to print stories about how people have thrived in lockdown, how they’ve set up new businesses and they’re looking for people like you.
So having some photos ready to use, means that when you spot that opportunity, you’ve got a great photo of you and/or your beautiful products!

Cafes, pubs & restaurants opening again
From 4th July pubs, cafes and restaurants (and hotels) are going to be opening again, and I for one am very pleased about that!
Mainly because some of my most favourite shoot locations will be open again (Redbrick Mill, Issho Bar Leeds, Angelica’s Leeds and East 59th Leeds too).
So if you’ve been waiting for a sign that its why now is a good time to book a branding shoot in your favourite cafe or bar, just let me know.
The Weather is picking up
As you can imagine, Im borderline obessessed with checking the weather , and from what Ive seen, we’re set to have more good weather from next week – which means outdoor shoots in summer dresses, cocktails and fun!
So get booked in now and we can make sure you’re ready for another lockdown with loads of images!
And finally
The shops are open so you can sort out what to wear so much easier , hairdressers are open too – so no excuses with your dodgy lockdown hairdo… and it’s time to get back to normal and get our businesses back on track!
