Branding Days – FAQ

Branding Days – FAQ

Today we’re looking at how Branding Day’s work, based on the questions I’m frequently asked…

Where do you do the shoots?

The BRANDING DAY shoots take place in a variety of different houses across the North of England.

I hire these the houses based on a variety of factors, they usually have lots of light, they’re stylish inside and have big rooms. They also have nice gardens for outside shots too.

Take a look at a past shoot at a house in Askham Richard (between Leeds and York).

How long does the shoot take?

As standard each shoot takes one hour. But there is the chance of extending that if you feel like you might need more time or more photographs.

The people who usually book longer have something specific in mind. They might want to do some video too or are new to photoshoots and don’t want to feel rushed.

Is Make-up included?

Yes make-up is included in the standard package.

If you don’t need make-up just let Maryanne know when booking as this could determine when your shoot takes place. (though we do recommend it, its good to have a bit of self-care before the shoot).

Read about how “social distancing” will effect Make-up.

Can I have my hair done too?

Yes you can also get your hair done. But it will be limited to styling your hair (nothing complicated). to ensure you look great, and must take place within the hour we have allocated before the shoot.

How many outfits can I wear?

I usually advise that you bring two changes of clothes, but if you bring more, we’ll certainly try and get through more outfits if we have time.

If you are unsure which outfit will work, then feel free to bring more choice and Maryanne will help you choose.

Do I need to bring props?

Yes bring props.

Laptops, favourite mug, magazine/books, notepad. Due to social distancing I won’t be able to supply you with props for the time being so bring anything you want to include in the photos.

What if I become ill with Covid-19 or I am told I must quarantine prior to the shoot?

If you have any symptoms or you have been told to quarantine due to Covid-19 then we will re-arrange your shoot for a later date.

Obviously once you are aware of any issues just get in touch with Maryanne.

How many pairs of shoes do I need?

Unless shoes are a big part of your life (maybe you’re known for having 100’s of pairs) then shoes aren’t really what we’ll focus on.

There will be a mixture of poses during the shoots, so your feet will be on show. I usually say bring shoes that will work with different outfits, but don’t worry too much.

Will there be parking?

Prior to the shoot we will advise you of directions and where to park. Some houses have plenty of parking but others are a bit more tricky (depending on location).

We’ll make sure you know where to park prior to the shoot!

Can I get to the location with public transport?

Most locations are accessible by public transport, however at the moment the governments advice is to avoid it where possible.

How many photos will I get?

You can expect a minimum of 50 images (which will all be professionally edited) but there are usually many more photos than this. If that’s the case, then we will ask you to choose your favourite 50 for editing and you’ll receive the remaining images in their standard form. (But you can opt to have them all edited for an additional fee).

Hopefully this Branding Day – FAQ answered all your questions but if not and you have any more questions just drop me a line!!

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
