Ideas for outdoor Branding Shoots

So today I thought I’d share some ideas for outdoor Branding shoots.

Over the last year or so I’ve been doing a lot of shoots in fancy houses across Yorkshire, so it’s actually quite nice to go back to how I started in Personal Branding Photography with simple outdoor shoots.

Originally when I did branding shoots it was on the side of doing wedding photography, I needed something to keep me occupied Monday to Friday and the best way to do that was with outdoor shoots for businesses.

Now you might think that this type of shoot isn’t as good as doing it in a luxury house or in a fancy hotel, but honestly, some of my most successful shoots were done completely outside.

Not only do you guarantee that we’re going to get good light, but also the backgrounds are often more varied.

Forests and fields

When I’m thinking about Ideas for outdoor Branding Shoots – I’m picturing a field of long grass at sunset. Just you and your yoga mat saluting the sun, or meditating .

Or imagine you’re going for a run, or doing a few stretches in a beautiful forest?

Meadows & drystone walls

Bring along a picnic basket, a bottle of something nice and a good book. We might even get a few sheep in the background.

Fields of Poppies

For a really dramatic backdrop to your photos consider something like a field of poppies, or bluebells.

Maybe we could shoot in a field of lavender or at the moment (its usually around May/June time) if you have yellow in your branding, a field of rapeseed?

Animals

Lots of people ask me if they can include their pets in the shoot. Obviously right now is an ideal time. We can show behind the scenes of your business as you take a walk with your furry friend.

Beaches and rivers

Perhaps we could do your shoot on a windswept beach? Imagine a sunset shoot on a lonely beach in a beautiful flowing dress…

Gardens

If you’re into gardening you could bring along your favourite gardening accessories and we’ll get photos of you up to your elbows in mud…

There are loads of gardens that are open to the public across Yorkshire. Including places like Oakwell Hall or Cannon Hall. (Though might have to be careful if you’re planning on showing yourself replanting or digging ha ha)

City Centres & Industrial Areas

Although city centres are probably a location where we’re better waiting until a little later in the year (probably when the non-essential shops are open again) we could still find a industrial area where there are beaten up old walls to stand against or old stone steps.

Colourful walls & fences.

Some of the most simple but stunning photos I’ve taken have been against brick walls or fences.

Anyway….hope you’ve got a few ideas. I’m always open to hearing new ones though, so if you’d like a chat, just get in touch.

And if you’re not quite ready, here are three other ways that I can help you:

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
