How to repurpose your branding photos

How to repurpose your branding photos

You’re stuck in your house (like the rest of us) and there is absolutely zero chance of you being able to have the Personal Branding photoshoot you had booked.

Luckily you’d already had a branding shoot last year, so you’re not completely without photos…but you’re a bit fed up of using them and worry that other people will be bored of them too!

and now you’re not sure what to do…

How to repurpose your brand photos

So today I’m going to suggest a few easy ways to change how they look or how you use them, until we can meet again!!

Crop it

Using something like Canva or Pik monkey or just plain old photoshop to crop the photo into a tighter image or to remove something from the image.

There are loads of options, from just making the image square to actually zooming in on your face.

You could also flip the image so it is backwards and will look different.

Combine video & photos

Create a new video by combining your old photos and new video. You could take some “b-roll” footage of yourself at home (working at your desk, drinking a cup of tea, having a glass of wine) all while wearing the same outfit you wore in the photos.

Then combine them both in something like Videoshop app and you’ve got a lovely little video.

Photoshop

Get a professional to change elements of the photos. Maybe remove the background or change the colour of what you’re wearing?

I can help you with this! Or if you have Canva (the paid version) you can easily remove backgrounds.

In this photo you could change the colours of the wall behind to suit your brand?

Use an app

There are loads of apps that will do fun things to your photos. Turn them into a cartoon maybe or into a line drawing.

Try an app that does something like this to your photo:

Black & White

Re-use your old photos by changing them into black & white. Although it doesn’t seem like this would make much of a difference, you’d be surprised at how different some photos can look.

Black & white is often used by photographers to take the eye away from distracting elements of colours in a photograph. Or where a photo is really busy in the background, forcing the viewer to only see the person in the foreground.

This is a great example of how black & white can enhance a photo and have more impact:

Wipe the background

Removing the background in Canva or photoshop means that you either replace the background completely, or put yourself into a new setting.

It would be easy enough to change the background colour to just a block of colour, and then give you another photo to use on social media or to put writing on.

Photo in a photo

Add your photo to another photo. maybe inside a photoframe or even on an iPad or computer.

There are loads of these types of images online that you can use for free (and I share some on my facebook page too) just search for “free iPad stock images”.

Re-use & repeat

The main thing to remember when you’re thinking about How to repurpose your branding photos is that although you might feel like you’ve used them a ridiculous amount of times, you probably haven’t. At the moment, when we can’t do our jobs in the same way as we have before its important to keep showing up.

Try some of these tips and just keep showing your lovely face! This isn’t going to last forever…

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
