What people actually think of you when you’ve had professional images

What people actually think of you when you’ve had professional images, is definitely not what you’re thinking.

I don’t know about you, but every time I post a photo online, I worry about what people will think.

Do I look ok in the photo…do I look fat, am I pulling a funny face…why didn’t I get my roots done… and on it goes.

But do you know something. I never even consider thinking that when I look at photos other people post! And I bet you don’t either.

And neither does anyone else.

I notice a happy face, a lovely smile, sparkling eyes. I’m wondering what makes them successful.

So I’ll let you in on a couple of secrets…

They don’t care as much as you think

And I’m not wanting to sound harsh with this. But we’ve all got our hang ups. There’s someone out there who probably wishes they had what you have.

And most of the time we’re all wandering through this life worrying about ourselves, our families and what’s going on in our own little world. We all do it, so what makes you think they have time to judge you?

They’re wondering how to be as amazing as you!

Yes that’s right. They’re looking at you and wondering how you got to be so good at what you do. I mean you must be getting something right if you need professional photos.

And then when your lovely face is popping up across social media advertising your latest course or new book they’re thinking…I want to be that successful too…maybe I need some photos?

They’re busy googling where to get your dress

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve seen someone’s new photos and I’ve ended up emailing them to find out where they got some item of clothing.

Attention spans are short, especially on social media.

They don’t look at the same things you do!

Anyone looking at your Professional images is unlikely to concentrate on the same things you do. After all it’s obvious to you every time you look in the mirror.

But to them, they’re just seeing their friend or someone they’d like to work with. They’re not going “now she looks like she needs a to lose a few pounds” or “wow, look at her belly”.

And like I often say…you wouldn’t avoid meeting people in real life because you’ve put on a few pounds would you! And you wouldn’t expect people to be judging your abilities when you first meet, based on how you look?

And when you’re ready, here are three ways that I can help you:

1) Visit my blog for tips on VISIBILITY.

Every week I discuss strategies to improve your visibility, get over your fear of visibility and my latest shoots.  Read here

2) Plan a bespoke photoshoot.

We can plan a shoot based on what you actually need (read more) or you could join me at a Branding Day.

3) Join ‘Visibility School’.

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
