My favourite spots for Instagram photos in Leeds

I love Leeds for branding shoots and often find some brilliant places for photos, so today I’m sharing my favourite spots for Instagram photos in Leeds.

The Corn Exchange

There are just so many choices in the corn exchange. But a word of warning – Avoid photos on the edges unless you’re near a window as your photos will be dull and have heavy shadows.

Otherwise get into all the unusual little shops (the plant shop and record shops are my favourites!) and face towards a window.

Outside Leeds Market

There are some really good murals outside Leeds market, and if you get a nice sunny day try the bright coloured one that runs down the side.

And there’s one at the back of the market (the dodgier side) which is great if it’s the too sunny. When it’s really sunny you’re generally facing the sun and you’ll be all squinty!

Issho & East 59th bar/restaurant

These two restaurants have been so great at accommodating me for phtooshoots (and when it’s raining they’re a god send). Both have stylish bar areas and restaurants and more impressively they have beautiful outside seating areas.

Leeds Dock

If you have a wander down towards The Royal Armouries you’re in for a real treat and absolutely loads of places for photos. Quirky buildings, lots of murals and lots of colours.

Greek street for restaurants

There are loads of great places for photos on Greek street. If you can get a table near the windows (or sit outside) there are some really pretty & funky spots.

The calls

For gorgeous cobbled streets and old brick walls you won’t find better than down by The calls.

It’s usually pretty quiet down there too, so no embarrassment as you take the photos!

I’m always on the look out for new places, so if you know any amazing graffiti just let me know!

Hi There!

Meet Maryanne

I’m a 40 (ahem something…) year old Yorkshire woman.

I’ve been self employed for 10 years (and a photographer for 18) and I totally understand how difficult it is to be visible in business.

Whether that’s because of a lack of self confidence, feeling a bit frumpy or the physical side effects of peri-menopause (hot sweats and forgetfulness anyone) – I promise you I’ve seen it all and still get great photos at every photoshoot.

I honestly feel so honoured when people book me, because they believe that I really want the best outcome for you. There’s no point having a fancy photoshoot if it doesn’t feel authentic to you.

My aim for every shoot is to get photos and video that you actually want to share… and I’ll be there in the side lines cheering you on!
