I promise you that there will come a time when you need professional photos. And here are the reasons…
You hate having your photo taken
So you never share any photos of yourself. So no one knows who you are.
It’s definitely time for professional photos.
It’s time to take the time to plan the shoot, choose the perfect location, some gorgeous clothes, a bit of makeup (I can help with that) and a very non threatening photographer who knows how it feels to not like being in photos….AKA me 😘.
You’re starting to think about PR
Maybe you’ve got a PR expert working for you or maybe you’ve seen business buddies getting press coverage.
Whether you’re writing an article for a blog, being interviewed by a magazine or even if you’re a guest on a podcast, they’re going to want a photo of you.
And more then likely they’ll want a good quality one. So when that opportunity arrives its a good idea to have some photos you’re happy to share.
You’ve seen the stats
Photos of you do 80% better on instagram than ones of anything else.
Ok, I made that up… but just take a look at your analytics for the last 30 days. I bet if you post a photo of yourself it does better than the others.
People like to see you (That is a fact) and it’s the easiest way to connect without resorting to stalking.
Recognition
You want to be recognised. And I mean that literally, not in the sense of being recognised as a great leader or philanthropist 😉
You want to be in the toilets at an event and have a random women come talk to you while you’re washing your hands, telling you that she recognise you from Instagram (this has happened to me on more than one occasion).
You’ve got a new (website, course, book…)
If you’re a coach, an author, an expert or anyone who sells something that they physically deliver or create (rather than a product…although people still want to see you too) you’re probably going to be using your face to sell it.
Just take a look at Marie Forleo, Jasmine Star, Kerry Lyons, Janet Murray or Lisa Johnson…they all have excellent personal branding photos.
